The control is not available because you do not have the correct permissions

If you see the above message on your infopath web based form, it means you extract information from a sharepoint security group, whose 'Group Settings' for 'Who can view the membership of the group?' is set to Group Members only.

Change it to 'Everyone'.

Teamsite redirecting to _layouts/15/start.aspx

To remove the automatic redirect of pages to _layouts/15/start.aspx

Site Settings >> Site Actions >> Manage Site Features >> Deactivate Minimal Download Strategy Feature

SP 2013 Save as site template page missing

Eventhough I go directly to the save as site template page which is /_layouts/savetmpl.aspx I get an error "The "Save site as template" action is not supported on this site."

As a workaround:

1. Open your site in SP Designer
2. Click Site Options
3. On Parameters tab, change to "true" for SaveSiteAsTemplateEnabled

Segoe UI font sucks

On the new version of sharepoint (2013), there are limited fonts available and the default is Segoe UI. On my computer, this font looks brilliant! But when I came across other user's screen, it looks like some weird-"trying to be"-Segoe font or worse Comic Sans! And you know how we hate this font!

I referred to this blog on how to change it.

Sharepoint 2013 breadcrumbs

After several trial and errors (and head banging on the wall), so that your site will display the breadcrumb:

1. Update your masterpage, find "ms-breadcrumb-dropdownBox", and remove the "display:none" tag
2. Create a teamsite
3. Deactivate feature - Wiki Page Home Page
